This coaching is only available for boys who are in Years 2 to 8 and is in addition to the weekly team coaching sessions if your son is playing Cricket for a Saturday sport.


Mandie Godliman, Director of Coaching Solutions, has an England and New Zealand Cricket Level 3 qualification, and extensive experience in many aspects of coaching from age 5 years to adults. Mandy will manage the Cricket Academy at Medbury, and provide and mentor the coaches.

Head Coach:

Hayley Aburn - Hayley is an aggressive right hand batter and also a wicket keeper. She has represented Canterbury at U21. She has had two winters in the UK coaching and playing, after completing her Bachelor of Sport Recreation Management while on a Cricket Scholarship. Hayley holds a Level 2 cricket coaching award. She has coached the Canterbury Under 15 Girls, and was the CCA’s female coach of the year for 2011. Hayley has coached a variety of sports, including coaching teams at Old Boys Collegians for the past 7 years. Sports Coaching Solutions will provide additional coaches as required. 

Venue and Time:
Coaching sessions will be held at Medbury.
First session Friday 19 October ‒ Last session Friday 7 December (excluding 16 November). 

Years 2 to 4: 3.30pm - 4.15pm

These sessions will be focused on basic skills with lots of game based learnings. The aim of these sessions is to encourage improvements through play, while at the same time having lots of fun.

Years 5 to 8: 3.30pm - 4.30pm

These sessions will be in the nets, with a lower coach/player ratio. The aim of these sessions is to work more on individual skills. Players will need to bring their own hard ball kit for these sessions. 

Years 2 to 4: $70 will be charged to your son’s school account at the end of Term 4, for a seven week coaching programme.

Years 5 to 8: $105 will be charged to your son’s school account at the end of Term 4, for a seven week coaching programme.
