Yesterday we held our Numeracy and Literacy Open Morning and Parent Information Session. Our aim was to showcase the progression of our Numeracy and Literacy programmes throughout the School. It was a great opportunity for current parents to see some of the high-quality learning programmes that happen every day at Medbury and how these develop and challenge the boys across the year levels. Throughout the School, classrooms were open for parents to observe lessons. Head of Numeracy, Anna Oborne, and Head of Literacy, Sarah Madgwick, presented to parents how these curriculum areas are taught and align with the New Zealand Curriculum, how they are assessed, how feedback is provided to boys and parents, and practical ideas for how parents can support their boys’ learning at home.
